92nd Anniversary: Marking The Founding Of The Chinese People’s Liberation army

A reception to mark the 92nd anniversary of the Founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation army (1927- 2019) was held in Yangon on Monday. The embassy's Military Attache Senior Colonel Xiong Shaowei and wife, Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy, Air Force) General Mya Tun Oo and wife, Chinese Ambassador, officials from embassies, senior military officials and many others attended the reception.

Speaking at the event, the embassy's Military Attache Senior Colonel Xiong Shaowei said the reception aims to celebrate the 92nd anniversary of the founding of the people’s liberation army (PLA).

On 1st August, the Communist Party of China (CPC) launched the armed uprising against the Kuomintang reactionaries in Nanchang City, which proclaimed the birth of new people’s forces led by CPC and the start of CPC’s independent lead of the revolutionary wars and the founding of people’s forces.

So, the day of 1st August which had special historical significance became the armed forces day of PLA. He also stressed the meeting between Commander-in-Chief of Defence services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and President Xi Jinping which focused on acceleration of China-Myanmar military cooperation for security and development of both countries.

In the event, the Chinese Military Attaché and wife hosted dinner to those present.
