8th destination in Bagan trip: Thanbo village in Kyauk Padaung to be implemented

Plans are underway to implement Thanbo village in Kyauk Padaung Township, Nyaung U District of Mandalay region for the 8th destination relating to Bagan trip for the visitors. There is a huge petrified wood that has existed for many years ago to attract more local and international visitors, according to the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism Bagan branch.

The Petrified wood is commonly found in Kyaukpadaung Township, Mandalay Region and Thanbo village is one of the sites to collect pieces of petrified wood. The locals conduct searching petrified wood and other fossils to earn money for their livelihood in the villages of nearby forest area.

Likewise, the village is relying on traditional medicines and the villagers make herbal medicines collected by the Popa area and sell the visitors to Mount Popa. People who want to study the fossils and students who are interested in the Botany subject can make study tour to Thanbo village as there are the pieces of petrified wood and iron smelting furnace.
