The 7th regular meeting of CIVIL representatives of the Joint Ceasefire Monitoring Committee took place at the National Reconciliation and Peace Center (NRPC) in Yangon, Tuesday.
At the event, Vice-Chairman-2 of JMC Union Level U Ko Ko Gyi explained about the activities of civil representatives in negotiation trips, informal meetings and public meetings which could motivate some groups in peace process.
He also called for open discussions on the targeted plans and advised to continue working without bias. A leading member of JMC Thura U Bo Ni expressed his appreciations on the works of civil representatives for their supports to the JMC and invited their ideas to address the underlying problems in respective areas.
Officials also presented the formation of JMC four years ago, the important role of JMC in ceasefire works and progress reports. Civil representatives from various levels of JMC and the technical assistance groups attended the meeting. The JMC holds its regular meeting every four months.
