7th AMRI+3: Myanmar delegation attends 7th AMRI+3 in Da Nang

The 7th Conference of ASEAN Plus Three Ministers Responsible for Information (7th AMRI+3) was held in Da Nang, Viet Nam on 23rd September. A Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn together with Information Ministers of ASEAN+3 attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Minister of Information and Communications of Viet Nam Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, CPC Central Committee Vice Minister Mr. Sun Yeli, Director General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan Mr. Nomura Eigo and Director of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea Mr. Nam Chanwoo delivered speeches respectively.

The host Viet Nam reported on implementation of Work Plan on Enhancing ASEAN+3 Cooperation through Information and Media (2018-2023), and Ministers from ASEAN+3 countries discussed to extend the work plans until 2025.

After that, the joint media statement (draft) on the 16th AMRI and related meetings was reviewed and general matters were discussed.

The meeting also approved the extension of work plans until 2025, laying down strategies for capacity building in human resource development in the ASEAN region, promoting media cooperation, and enhancing networking for media, including new media. Later, Brunei, which will host the 8th AMRI+3, informed the meeting of the date and venue, and then the ceremony successfully concluded. 

During the trip, with the arrangement made by the host, Vietnam, the delegates embarked on a study tour to remarkable places in Da Nang, including Ba Na Hill, Old French Villas, and the Golden Bridge.

In the evening, the Da Nang Administrative Body hosted a farewell dinner for the delegations attending AMRI and SOMRI.
