





The 6th meeting of National Land Use Council was held at In-gyin Hall of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation in Nay Pyi Taw in the afternoon on 7th August and attended by the NLUC Chairman SAC member Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Defense Admiral Tin Aung San.
First, the Chairman of National Land Used Council gave an opening speech saying that the land resource is the very basic natural resources facilitated for foods, clean water and other ecosystems including bop diversity, as it’s the limited resource which cannot be expanded, the systematic land management is important.
For enabling of sustainable management of the country’s land resources, harmonization of existing laws and enacting New National Land Law in accordance with the provisions of Section-37 of the State Constitution, the necessary guideline of National Land Use Policy was drafted with the participation of the public and promulgated in January, 2016. According to the description at sub-section (a) of National Land Use Policy paragraph-9, for the implementation of laws related to the National Land Use Policy, the National Land Use Council comprised of Union Ministers, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, Chief Ministers of Regions and States and Deputy Ministers and the meetings have been holding for 6 times to find the solution with the coordination among the Council members etc.
Next, the Vice Chairman of the NLUC Union Minister Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, Council secretary Union minister U Khin Maung Yi and Council member Union Minister U Min Naung clarified the work implementations regarding with the National Land Use Council.
Then, the Deputy Ministers MaJ-Gen Toe Yi, Dr. Tin Htut, U Min Thu and Director general of Forest Department Dr. Thaung Naing Oo clarified the status of work implementations. Consequently, Council members Union Ministers, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, Chief Ministers of Regions and States and Deputy Ministers discussed matters related to the land management as per the sector.
Then, the attendees gave necessary suggestions on the information regarding with the land use for drawing national Mapping system, charts, maps, collecting records, developing land use pilot project and drawing draft national land law. After that, Chairman of National Land Use Council gave necessary instruction to collaborate among the departments and the meeting was concluded.
