






A Celebration for 62nd anniversary of Peasants’ Day took place in Wahdu Village of Kangyidaunt Township in Ayeyawady Region on Saturday.
Member of the State Administration Council Mahn Nyein Maung, Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win, Commander of Southwest Command and officials attended the ceremony, and formally opened the ceremonial arch for the celebration. This was followed by reading out of the message, sent by the State Administration Council Chairman.
The SAC member expressed that the seminars have been organized on the Peasants’ Day in order to discuss the ways to tackle the challenges faced in agricultural sector and to promote the social status of farmers. He urged all to engage in frank and open discussions on the requirements and expectations.
The Chief Minister also stressed to achieve fruitful outcomes through collective discussion. The ceremony continued with speech by the Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation.
Then, the attendees enjoyed the entertainment programs in honour of the Peasants’ Day. During the ceremony, the outstanding farmers were awarded for their excellence in farming, along with the provisions of farm implements.
After the ceremony, the SAC member and party observed the demonstration of paddy cultivation by handy planters as well as the displays at the commemorative exhibition, including the departmental booths, agriculture and livestock, farm implements, agricultural inputs, seeds, fishery products, coconut related products and animal feeds, altogether 39 booths. The exhibition and the seminars will be continued till the 4th of March.
