







The opening ceremony of the 60th Myanmar Gems Emporium was held at the Mani Yadana Jade Hall in Nay Pyi Taw on November 17.
The Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing graced the ceremony.
First, the Acting President and SSPC Chairman, along with other ceremony attendees, watched a video documentary about the production and sale of Myanmar pearls, the production of gems and jewelry, and the preparatory work for holding the 60th Myanmar Gems Emporium.
Subsequently, the Acting President and SSPC Chairman, along with the ceremony attendees, toured and inspected the jade, gemstone, and pearl lots displayed for sale inside the Mani Yadana Jade Hall at the 60th Myanmar Gems Emporium. Based on the explanations provided by the responsible officials, the Acting President and SSPC Chairman gave necessary guidance and instructions.
Afterwards, the Acting President and SSPC Chairman and the officials toured and encouraged the private gems and jewelry finished product sales exhibition halls. They also toured and inspected the raw jade lots displayed outside the hall. This 60th Myanmar Gems Emporium will be held until November 26th. A total of 5,064 lots of raw jade, 21 lots of finished jade, 13 lots of raw gemstones, 147 lots of gemstone jewelry, and 489 lots of pearls will be sold to domestic and international gem merchants through an open tender system. The sales will be conducted in US Dollars, Euros, Chinese Yuan, Thai Baht, and other foreign currencies accepted by the Central Bank of Myanmar, it’s learnt.
