The symposium on 5th Continuing Medical Technology Education 2019 took place at Myanamr Convention Centre in Yangon, Sunday.
The symposium is aimed for broadening knowledge to Myanmar medical technology sector players and providing better and quality treatments to patients by using latest medical technologies.
Union Minister for Health and Sports Dr. Myint Htwe attended the event and gave an opening remarks, saying tasks being undertaken by the Ministry for the development of medical technology sector.
General Secretary, Myanmar Medical Technologist Association, Kalayar Chaw said “This is the 5th time. We hold the symposium in Yangon and Mandalay in rotation. Medical technology is essential for healthcare sector. Medical treatments are provided based on medical diagnostic tests. So, it is needed for medical technologists to provide quality results and better service.”
The laboratory tools and medical technologies to be used in healthcare sector were also exhibited at the event.
Managing Director, Pole Star Palace Co., Ltd., Dr. Naing Win Htet said “Laboratory equipments are mainly exhibited here like immunology analyzers. We can say that medical technology sector in Myanmar is improving as patients don’t need to go abroad to receive quality medical tests and treatments. It is very easy to make access and the demand is rising as well.”
At the event, experts from Medtech sector read research papers on topics such as Common Errors and Variations in the Clinical Laboratory, Laboratory Ethics and many more.
