5th Open Campus: Projects By University Of Information Technology Students

University of Information Technology (UIT) created its 5th Open Campus event on Tuesday at its place in Yangon.

This is to show the projects by UIT students for the people across the country and especially for the students who are going to answer the Matriculation examination - UIT has been organizing Open Campus Observance annually since 2014-2015 Academic Year.

Yangon Region Minister for Social Affairs U Naing Ngan Lin opened the event. Chairman of National Education Policy Commission Dr. Myo Kywe and Patron of Myanmar Computer Federation U Thein Oo gave remarks.

Chairman, National Education Policy Commission, Dr. Myo Kywe said “Information and communications technology (ICT) plays an important role nowadays. We can find out the solutions we want even only from the smart phone. So, I want the people to know more about ICT - this kind of event brings many benefits to the new generations, I’m sure.”

University of Information Technology was established in 2012 to nurture the effective and well-qualified human resources for the development of ICT sector in the nation.

Projects including software projects, hardware technology projects and many others were on display at the event.

Rector, University of Information Technology, Dr. Saw Sanda Aye said “Visitors can observe teaching methodology labs, English four skills labs, hardware labs, K labs and many more practical labs in here. There’re fun fairs as well. These all are the students’ cooperation skill and team work.”

In 2018-2019 academic year, UIT sent 160 of final year students to over 40 IT companies as internship program and over 30 of them are at the companies in Japan, Thailand and Vietnam.
