The fifth China-Central Asia Foreign Ministers’ Meeting was held in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province. Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who chaired the meeting, urged countries to maintain everlasting friendship and uphold multilateralism and common security.
Attendees also launched preparations for the second China-Central Asia Summit in Kazakhstan next year. In a press conference, Wang concluded the five consensus reached during the meeting.
This include enhancing the China-Central Asia mechanism to forge greater collaboration and development in the region and jointly promoting high-quality Belt and Road Initiative. After that, the foreign ministers signed a joint declaration. They also witnessed the opening of the Central Asia Line of the Tianfu cross-border truck.
