Marking the 50th Anniversary Golden Jubilee of Rakhine State Day, the Rakhine State Government has been organizing article and essay competitions within the region to promote reading habits and literacy development. As part of these efforts, Chief Minister U Htein Lin, accompanied by his wife and other officials attended the prize-awarding ceremony for the competition winners on Friday.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister highlighted that the competition aimed to deepen participants' understanding of Rakhine State by exploring its history, geography and current developments, while encouraging good essay-writing habits among students.

He added that the government also plans to organize more painting, essay, and article competitions during significant events in the coming years with the participation of university students, departmental personnel and literary scholars. Following the speech, the Chief Minister and wife then presented prizes to the winners, followed by a documentary photo session.
