4th Hot Air Balloon Festival in Northwest China

A Zhangye Danxia National Geopark renowned for its stunning palette of colors across steep cliffs and unique rock formations in northwest China’s Gansu Province kicked off its 4th hot air balloon festival on Tuesday.

The festival in the Colorful Danxia Scenic Spot included six airshows, where 36 hot air balloons, piloted by professionals across China, provided a spectacular display against the backdrop of the site’s unique landscape, with the vibrant colors of the balloons contrasting beautifully with the deep red and orange hues of the rock.

Alongside the ballooning, visitors were drawn in by a music festival and a themed photography contest that showcased Zhangye’s rich culture.
