49th Akha National Day: Shan State Chief Minister attends celebration

The 49th Anniversary of Akha National Day ceremony took place in the courtyard of AmeiYinkwin Schoolin Kengtung Township on Thursday evening.

There, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Zaw Aye and many other concerned officials ceremonially opened the new building of the School. Next, the State Chief Minister viewed around the booths displaying the Akha ethnic literature and toured the building.

The ceremony continued with the State Chief Minister making a speech to promote the traditional culture, language and customs of Akha ethnic people. He also called for cooperation for building mutual understanding and trust to create the peaceful and prosperous future. And, the State Chief Minister and officials provided cash assistance for the 49th Anniversary of Akha National Day. The ceremony also included Akha traditional performances and a dinner.
