3rd Collective Tree Planting: MoNREC UM led by planting of teak sapling

The third edition of 2024 Monsoon Season collective tree planting ceremony of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation was held at Yan Aung Myin Forest Reserve in Lewe Township of Union Territory Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on Wednesday and attended by Union Minister U Khin Maung Yi, Deputy Minister U Min Thu and officials.

First, the Union Minister planted sapling of teak at the designated place and the Deputy Minister and attendees planted the trees. Next, the Union Minister oversaw the planting of trees by the attendees. During the ceremony, a total of 3,000 saplings of 13 wood species.

During 2024 Monsoon Season, the Ministry has planted a total of 22.696 saplings in the plantations of forest, mangrove forest, watershed and Village firewood, roadside plantation, collective tree plantings and distribution to the public, it’s learnt.
