






A commemorative ceremony, marking the 34th Anniversary of Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD) was held at the Ministry of Information on Friday.
The ceremony was attended by Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, Deputy Minister U Ye Tint, Permanent Secretary and concerned officials.
First, a video clip on the work implementations of IPRD during 2024 was shown. Then, the Union Minister delivered a speech, stating that it has been 34 years since IPRD has been standing strongly as a department, thanks to the responsible departmental officials and staff. It could be said that 2024 has been a significant year for IPRD as it could successfully hold grand ceremonies such as the Myanmar Motion Pictures Awards for 2023 in February 2024, the nationwide campaigns for Libraries Development and Promoting Reading Habits under the guidance of the head of state.
The Union Minister added that educational talks and youth talks are being held nationwide to enhance the morality of the youngsters and to nurture the future generations for the country to be relied on.
He also acknowledged the continuous opening of capacity building training courses for the departmental staffs who can shoulder the responsibilities of the state and the people. This was followed by presenting of awardees to the outstanding staff members, as well as the township, district, region and state level offices for excellent work performance. After the ceremony, the Union Minister and party viewed round the commemorative photos which are displayed in the hall.
