






Cambodia hosts the 32nd SEA Games 2023 from the 5th to the 17thof May. On Tuesday, 43 Myanmar athletes who participated in billiards and snooker, boxing and women volleyball events arrived back in Yangon.
Chairman of the Yangon Region Sports and Physical Education Committee Advocate-General U Htay Aung and officials from the Sports and Physical Education Department (Yangon) warmly welcomed the athletes at the Yangon International Airport.
Chairman, Htay Aung, Sports and Physical Education Committee, said " Today, athletes including boxing athletes arrived back, winning 6 bronze medals. We won many gold medals starting from the previous year. Women volleyball team won silver medal and it’s nice to seeing the locals warmly welcoming the athletes."
Chairman, Dr. Min Naing, Billiards and Snooker Federation, said " We won 3 gold and 2 bronze medals in billiards and snooker events. In the competition of cue sport which is type of sports under billiards and snooker competition, 10 gold medals were presented and we won first prize and 3 gold medals. This is our highest achievement."
Athlete, Ar T, Gold Medal Winner, said " I competed in snooker single/double and nine-ball single/double events. I won the 3rd prize and one gold medal in the competition of snooker double and one gold medal in the competition of nine-ball single. The billiards and snooker sport is one of the international sports and it is completely fair. We made efforts for the competition and we are very happy for winning the medals and first prize."
In the 32ndSEA Games hosted by Cambodia, it’s learnt that Myanmar athletes won 21gold, 25 silver, 68 bronze medals, totaling 114 according to the types of sports.
