32nd Anniversary of MoHT: Union Minister awarded certificate of honor

With the aim at systematic and sustainable development of Hotels and Tourism industries of the country, the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism was formed on 24th September, 1992 and it has reached to 32nd Anniversary.

The celebration in commemoration of the 32nd Anniversary of the Ministry was held at Jade Hall of the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw with the attendance of Union Minister Dr. Thet Thet Khine and Deputy Minister U Phyo Zaw Soe.

Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister said that the Ministry could implement the interests for the country within its 32 years term from the beginning of its forming. It appears that the step-by-step restructuring of the Ministry across the country was carried out to be able to implement tourism industry effectively and to adapt the times and systems.

The Ministry is implementing the policies, objectives and goals not only development of the domestic tourism sector but also gaining oversea tourism market shares. According to the course of the history of Ministry, since the “Visit Myanmar Year 1996” could be celebrated, it’s needed to make efforts to celebrate similar events, etc.

Next, the Deputy Minister U Phyo Zaw Soe made a remark on the objectives of celebrating 32nd Anniversary of the Ministry, successes implemented by the Ministry, reformation of the Ministry and the sports activities organized in commemoration of the anniversary.

Then, the Union Minister awarded the certificate of honor to the contributed organizations for the Thingyan Festival of the Ministry, training schools sported the trainings opened by the Ministry and the best exhibition prize winners in 2024 World Tourism Day. Consequently, Deputy Minister awarded the prizes to the outstanding personnel attended the Civil Service Academy and the Director General to the prize winners at the sport activities.

After that, the Union Minister, Deputy Minister, Director General and officials enjoyed the lunch together with the personnel. The event was also held at the branches in regions and states simultaneously and presented the gifts in lucky-draw to the personnel including those in the branches. In commemoration of the 32nd Anniversary of the Ministry, the sports activities were also conducted.
