




Thirty days since Uganda declared the outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus, 24 people have died in the central district of Mubende.The government says it has put more than 80 people under mandatory quarantine in different isolation centers as they monitor them for 21 days.It is believed that Ebola has an incubation period of 21 days from the day of contacted.
Jane Ruth Aceng, Ugandan Minister for Health said "We have two candidate vaccines that are ready for trial in the country, we have the Oxford vaccine from the United Kingdom and the Sabin vaccine from the United States of America. Right now our protocols are ready, they have been reviewed by the National Council of Science and the teams that are going to handle the vaccines - we call it a research, because we also want information - are all ready and set and all that is required to have the vaccines in terms of cold chain is ready."
The Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni in a public address recently announced a 21-day movement restriction in the two districts of Mubende and Kassanda.
