3 New Virus Cases: Ministry Of Health And Sports Confirms 3 New Coronavirus Cases

Ministry of Health and Sports confirmed 3 new Coronavirus cases on Saturday based on the National Health Laboratory’s results issued at 11 p.m. on Friday.

A 29-year old man from Insein Township of Yangon Region has been quarantined at Waibargi Specialist Hospital in Yangon since the 26th of March, 2020. He arrived in Myanmar on the 21st of March via Barbados, the United Kingdom and Thailand. His lab result on the 27th of March showed that he has COVID-19 disease.

A 60-year old woman, tour guide, from Bahan Township of Yangon Region has been quarantined at Yangon General Hospital since the 26th of March as she developed cough and vomit on the 25th of March. Though she has no record of travel to foreign countries in the past 14 days, she travelled together with French tourists as a tour guide. Her lab result on the 27th of March showed that she has COVID-19 disease.

A 58-year-old woman from Switzerland arrived at Nay Pyi Taw International Airport on the 18th of March from Geneva via Bangkok. While receiving a hotel-quarantine in Nay Pyi Taw, she suffered fever, cough and diarrhoea. She was taken to 1,000-bed Nay Pyi Taw General Hospital on the 26th of March. Her lab result on the 27th of March showed that she has COVID-19 disease. The patient had a history that she closely contacted with her father for 2 hours in Switzerland who had been infected with COVID-19 disease.
