2nd Tree Planting Ceremony: MoNREC UM joined the tree planting ceremony

The monsoon season second collective tree planting ceremony of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation was held at Plot No (14) of Yan Aung Myin Forest Reserve in Lewe Township of Union Territory Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on July 31st and attended by Union Minister U KhinMaungYi, Deputy Minister U Min Thu and officials.

First, the Union Minister planted sapling of Badauk tree at a designated place and the Deputy Minister and attendees also planted the saplings at the specific places. Then, the Union Minister encouraged the attendees who are planting the saplings. During the tree planting ceremony, a total of 3000 saplings of 9 species under the feature of mass campaign.

During the 2024 monsoon season, the Ministry has planted a total of 21.22 million saplings in the establishment of forest plantation, mangrove forest, water-shed and Village firewood plantation, plantations on road sides, collective tree planting and the plantation through distributing public.

After that, the Union Minister received a delegation led by Mr. Alexander Sergeevich SHATIROV Chief Executive Officer of Roscongress Investment Fund of Russian Federation at the Union Minister’s office. At the call, they cordially discussed the matters on the development of mineral sector between Myanmar and Russian Federation and technical cooperation. Also present at the call were the Deputy Minister U Min Thu, Permanent Secretary, Directors General and Managing Directors of the Departments and Enterprises.
