2nd Session of Plenary Meeting: 17th plenary meeting of SSMNC concluded

The second session of the 17th plenary meeting of the Eighth 47-member State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee was held at the Maha Pasana Cave on Thiri Mingala Kaba Aye Hill in Yangon in the morning on 6th July.

Present on the occasion were members of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee led by Presiding Nayaka Sayadaw of Thanlyin Min Kyaung Pahtamapyan Sarthintaik Monastery Dr Bhaddanta Candima Bhivamsa, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin and relevant officials.

State Sangha Mahamayaka Committee Chairman Sayadaw Dr Bhaddanta Candima Bhivamsa presided over the meeting, Joint Secretary Sayadaw acted as the master of ceremonies, the Sayasaws discussed the matters on the reports regarding with the undertakings on the Vinicchaya, religious affairs and education and the session was adjourned.

When the second part of second day session was resumed in the afternoon and the the Vinicchaya, religious affairs and educational matters were discussed and made decisions.

After seeking the approval of the report on the undertaking during the fifth duty period of the first duty group of 8th State Sanghamahanayaka Committee, the 17th plenary meeting of the Eighth 47-member State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee was successfully concluded.

The donors led by the Presiding Sayadaw of Kyaikkasan Weiluwun (Shwe Kyin) monastery offered alms for the whole day as 39th time to the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee member Sayadaws, who attended the meeting.
