








A delegation from the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, led by Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Daw Nu Mya Zan, attended the 2nd General Assembly, 3rd Council Meeting, and related exhibitions and programs of the Alliance for Cultural Heritage in Asia (ACHA), held in Chongqing, People's Republic of China, from November 26 to 29, 2025.
The meetings were held with the aims of further promoting cooperation in cultural heritage conservation and enhancing friendship among member countries.
The Deputy Minister and the delegation arrived in Chongqing, China, on November 25. On November 26, at 10:00 AM, they attended a meeting with ACHA officials led by Deputy Director-General Mr. Xie Bing from China's National Cultural Heritage Administration and the Executive Secretary-General of ACHA. In the afternoon, they visited the China Three Gorges Museum.
At the museum, they observed a special exhibition of stone carvings from the Dazu Rock Carvings, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Chongqing, and an exhibition of historical artifacts unearthed during the construction of the dam in the Three Gorges area (the confluence region of the Yangtze River, Yellow River, and others). In the evening, they attended a Welcome Dinner hosted by ACHA officials along with delegates from other countries.
On November 27, at 8:30 AM, the 2nd General Assembly of ACHA was held at the Liangjiang Hall, Chongqing Yuelai International Conference Center. Vice Minister Mr. Rao Quan, Administrator of the National Cultural Heritage Administration and Minister of Culture and Tourism of China, served as the Chairperson. Attendees included invited officials and delegates from 26 member countries, along with the Myanmar delegation led by the Deputy Minister. During the assembly, ACHA officials delivered speeches, followed by country presentations. Deputy Minister Daw Nu Mya Zan delivered Myanmar's country presentation.
The 3rd ACHA Council Meeting was held at 3:00 PM at the Joy Hall, Chongqing Yuelai International Conference Center, with Secretary-General of ACHA, Mr. Kong Vireak, serving as the Chairperson. Officials from ACHA member countries, including the Myanmar Deputy Minister and delegates, attended the meeting.
On the evening of November 27, ACHA conference delegates were taken on a cruise along the Yangtze River, featuring entertainment such as a drone show displaying Chinese cultural themes and traditional Chinese dance performances.
On November 28, the delegation visited the Cultural Heritage sites in Dazu District, Chongqing, which house the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Dazu Rock Carvings.
It is reported that the Deputy Minister and the delegation departed from Chongqing, China, on November 29, and have returned to Yangon International Airport.
