The 2024 Mid-Year Gems Emporium continued its second day at the Mani Yadana Jade Hall in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday, with gems and jewelry shops thriving and attracting a steady stream of visitors and buyers.

The event was graced by the presence of Patron of the Myanmar Emporium Central Committee Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi. Upon arrival, the Union Minister inspected the pearl sets, the announcement of winning bids and jade lots, gems lots and jewelry stores at the Mani Yadana Jade Hall and provided necessary instructions to officials.

Local and foreign merchants toured the displays of pearls, jade, and gem lots inside the hall, as well as raw jade lots outside. Simultaneously, pearl lots 1 to 140 were offered for sale through the open tender system, with 108 lots sold.

The base price of the pearls is set in US dollars. Foreign buyers can pay in US dollars, euros, yuan, Thai baht or other currencies accepted by the Central Bank of Myanmar, while local buyers may pay in foreign currencies or kyats. Looking ahead, on the third day of the exhibition, lots 141 to 280 will be available for sale to local and international gem merchants.

The 2024 Mid-Year Gems Emporium is being held at the Mani Yadana Jade Hall from November 18 to 27, featuring a total of 280 pearl lots, 160 gems lots, and 4,800 jade lots to be sold through the open tender system.
