2nd coordination meeting: Meeting to hold Myanmar Education Conference (2023)

The 2nd coordination meeting of the Steering Committee to hold Myanmar Education Conference (2023) and Work Committee was held at the Ministry of Education in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday with an address by Chairman of the Steering Committee, Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win.

At the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister said that the 1st meeting was held on 25th April and in the 2nd meeting, the matters to be decided and progress of works for the success of the conference would be discussed.

The Education Conference to be held is the first one at the time of the SAC and it is also a conference that will be jointly organized by 11 Ministries related to the education.

At the conference, paper reading session intending to producing human resources and development of future academic fields in a timely manner and holding seminars will be conducted.

Through the seminars, the academic matters will be resolved and depending on the outcomes, the conference will be conducted. The successive governments adopted plans for education promotion and human resource development.

From 2003 to 2009, the conferences were held in rotation in the Yangon Diamond Jubilee hall, Yezin Agriculture University, University of Veterinary Science, Taunggyi University and Mawlamyaing University.

This conference will be organized by not only the Ministry of Education but also members of the State Administration Council who attended the conference along with 11 related ministries, union level personnel and scholars will work together.

The Deputy Prime Minister called for cooperation in all sectors for the successful holding of the conference.

Later, Chairman of the Work Committee Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe reported on arrangements for the successful holding of Education Conference. After that, officials of relevant sub-committees reported on progress of works to hold Myanmar Education Conference (2023) and coordinated the needs.

Attendees then also discussed sector-wise implementations for holding the conference. In response to the reports, the Deputy Prime Minister coordinated essentials and then, the meeting concluded.
