





The second meeting of work committee for drafting National Land Law and Harmonization of Laws related to the Land Management was held at the Ministry of Agricultural, Livestock and Irrigation, Nay Pyi Taw in the afternoon on June 19 with the attendance of Committee Chairman-1 Union Minister U Min Naung of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, the Committee Chairman-2 Union Minister U Khin Maung Yi of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation and committee members.
At the meeting, Committee Chairman-1 Union Minister U Min Naung said that it’s needed to overview the Land Administration System and the points to be referenced exercised internationally in the efforts to implement the interests of the citizens related to the land in line with the provisions of the State constitution. Likewise, it’s also required to comply with the points directed in the Legislative Drafting Guidance issued by the Ministry of Legal Affairs. In the process of drafting bill, the implementation will be conducted under the specifications with the cooperation of the people.
The Union Minister U Khin Maung Yi discussed the points to be considered for the drafting national land law and harmonization of laws related to the land management, to encompass the existing laws relating to the land and drafting in the related laws to control the land use in the whole country.
Next, the work committee secretary director General of the Department of Agricultural Land Management and Statistics U Thet Naing Oo clarified the subject matters to be discussed in the meeting and the attendees discussed the related sectors.
At the second meeting of work committee for drafting National Land Law and Harmonization of Laws related to the Land Management formed by the National Land Use Council of the State Administration Council on 25th July, 2022 with notification no (11/2022), the matter regarding with the draft order to form three sub law drafting groups under the Supporting Working Group on drafting the national land law, discussion on reviewing the collected suggestions given by the committee members on the chapters, topics (first draft law) that should be included in the draft national land law, to approve the time of commencing work and period for implementing the whole work process were discussed.
