28th Anniversary MWD TV: SG attends the celebration in Nay Pyi Taw

28th Anniversary of Myawady Television was held at No.2 Tatmadaw Television Broadcasting Unit in Taung Nyo of Ottarathiri Township in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area on Wednesday. Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended the celebration and made a speech. He said there has been constant development on a daily basis in the society.

Spreading information among the society is the part of the tasks of public relations. Among the various fields of public relations, media relation has been used widely in the international community. He added that in an effort for nation building endeavours, it is important to have balanced ratio of three major pillars, Administration, Judiciary and Legislation, and the media, the fourth pillar. Media is the pillar that maintain balance to three major pillars. He pointed out that media plays important role in echoing the public voice while relaying the performance of the government organizations.

He said Myawady Television is always striving for educating the public to have correct outlook and to nurture the union spirit. Since its establishment, Myawady Television has been broadcasting the policies and information that have been needed to be known for the public in a timely manner. It also provides education programs and entertainment programs with variety performances. He reiterated that Myawady Television has become the qualified media due to the collective efforts of the staff and all the concerned personnel. He stressed the needs to broadcast the programs that are in line with the current trend of age while abiding by one of the social objectives “To respect and promote the customs and traditions of all national peoples and preserve and safeguard their faiths, culture and national characteristics based on national spirit”.

The Senior General later presented prizes to the winners at the state level competitions and international competitions. The Senior General also accepted the commemorative gift for the 28th anniversary Myawady Television. He also presented honorary cash for the officers, staff and families of Myawady Television.

After the ceremony, the Senior General and party viewed round the Myawady Television Station, and oversaw the production process in the studios. They also looked into the displays of broadcast equipment. Myawady Television was established on 27th March 1995 on the Golden Jubilee Armed Forces Day. In order to extend the nation-wide broadcasting, No.2 Tatmadaw Broadcasting Unit was established in Nay Pyi Taw on 19th June 2009. Myawady Television has been striving to become a dutiful media for the nation, people and Tatmadaw with the aims to inform, to educate, to entertain and to organize.
