25th Anniversary: News and Periodicals Enterprise holds celebration

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn attended the 25th Anniversary celebration of the News and Periodicals Enterprise on Saturday.

In his opening speech, the Union Minister said that nowadays, the main need of the information sector is to spread true news in a timely manner, not only throughout Myanmar, but also throughout the world.

Efforts must be made to accelerate the Myanmar Digital News. The Enterprise also carried out special aspects including release of special articles, photo page and news sheets. He added that the government's efforts for the advancement of the nation must be taken seriously to inform the people.

And, the Union Minister presented awards to officials and staff of the Myanma Alinn Newspaper, The Mirror News and the Myanmar News Agency. Deputy Minister U Ye Tint also presented awards to officials and staff of the Myanmar Digital News Agency.

Also, awards, certificates of honour and cash for uniform were presented. This celebration continued with screening a video clip of work processes by the News and Periodicals Enterprise. This 25th Anniversary celebration of the News and Periodicals Enterprise also included a lucky draw programme.
