20th Press Conference: SAC Information Team holds press conference

The 20th press conference of the Information Team of the State Administration Council took place at the Ministry of Information on Tuesday.

Leader of the Information Team of the SAC Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun explained bilateral cooperation and prospects during Russia-Myanmar trip, financial affairs, peace implementations of the State Administration Council, providing assistance of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement from 1st February 2021 to 31st August 2022 regarding the current conflicts, conditions of COVID-19 disease, terrorisms of NUG and PDF terrorist groups and informing to public not to conduct supporting to terrorism.

The SAC Information Team leader Maj-Gen clarified on Myanmar delegation visit to Russia, diplomatic relations between the two countries, meeting between the SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin during the Russia trip and discussion on boosting bilateral relations and cooperation, participation of Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing at the Plenary Session of the Eastern Economic Forum-2022, and meetings with other officials during the trip.

The Maj-Gen also added that actions will be taken to illegal mobile payment and the MIR card of Russia will be used in the payment system of Myanmar and the Russian Financial organizations will help enabling to use MIR card as much as quickly. Myanmar is ready to sign MoU between bilateral cooperation of the central banks of the two countries and it is under discussion to use MIR cards of Russia in Myanmar and also explained the Financial Messaging System in of the Bank of Russia-SPFS.

He also reiterated COVID-19 vaccination in the country, COVID-19 control and preventive measures and said that the COVID-19 vaccination have been injected to over 30 million people aged 18 and above and over 6.5 million people of under 18 years in Myanmar until 13th September.

The Maj-General also explained the terrorisms of PDF terrorists, deaths and damages in the respective regions and states, killings of people by PDF terrorists in Yinmabin and Wet Let townships in Sagaing region, invitation to PDF members and CDM staff to return to the legal fold and taking actions against those who involve in the terrorism and support to the violent acts, the attack of AA group and ARSA Extremist Bengali Terrorist group to security police outpost with heavy weapons from near the border fence of Myanmar-Bangladesh and mortar shells landed inside Bangladesh territory, publishing the actual account of the firing incidents near the Myanmar-Bangladesh border in daily newspapers of Myanmar, official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ calling in Ambassador of Bangladesh to Myanmar regarding the incident. UEC member U Khin Maung Oo also clarified scrutinizing the political parties, progress in checking the ground population and statistics for ensuring correct voter lists, and undertakings of the UEC.
