20th China-ASEAN Expo: Union Ministers attended the opening ceremony

Myanmar delegation led by the Union Minister for Commerce U Aung Naing Oo attended the opening ceremony of 20th China-ASEAN expo and 20th China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit held at Nanning City of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, People’s Republic of China in the morning on 17th September.

The opening ceremony was attended by Premier Li Qiang of the People’s Republic of China, Cambodian Prime Minister, Laotian Prime Minister, Malaysian Prime Minister, Vietnamese Prime Minister, Indonesia’s Vice President, Minister for Commerce and Industry of Singapore, Minister for Development of Brunei, Deputy Minister for Commerce and Industry of the Philippines,  Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister of Thailand, Deputy Minister for Commerce and Industry of Timor Leste and ASEAN Secretary-General.

The 20th China-ASEAN expo and 20th China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit is held aiming at to "Work Together for a Harmonious Home and a Shared Future – Promoting High-Quality Development of the Belt and Road and Building an Epicentrum of Growth". Also present at the opening ceremony were the Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung, Union Minister for U Myo Thant and Myanmar Ambassador to PRC U Tin Maung Swe and Senior officials.

After the opening ceremony, the Union Minister together with Deputy Governor of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region observed the display booths exhibited by Myanmar entrepreneurs at 20th China-ASEAN Expo. At the Expo, the agricultural products, marine products, MSMEs products, Gems and Jewelries produced in Myanmar.

Next, Union Minister, Mandalay City Mayor, Mandalay Region Minister for economic affairs, Myanmar ambassador and Deputy governor opened Myanmar National Exhibition Hall by cutting the ceremonial ribbon and enjoyed the performance of traditional dances. Consequently, the industrial zone, tourism zone and housing Construction project implementing surrounding of Mandalay which is selected as City of Charm at Myanmar Exhibition Hall.

The Union Minister attended the forum of Institutional Opening-up for New Economic Growth which is a related main agenda of 20th China-ASEAN Expo at Liyuan Resort, International Conference Center together with the secretary of Chinese Communist Party Guangxi Committee, Governor of Guangxi Province, Deputy Minister for Trade and Commerce of China, ASEAN Secretary General and Minister for Commerce and Industry of Singapore.

In the evening, the Union Minister received the Chinese’ news media of People’s Daily, CGTN, China Media Group, China News Service, Guangxi Daily, Guangxi Radio and Television,   Nanning Daily and Nanning Radio and Television and answered the queries of the news outlets regarding with the matters on bilateral economic cooperation, China-ASEAN Collaboration and future prospects.

The Union Minister attended also attended the dinner of honor welcoming China-ASEAN Expo hosted by the Premier Li Qiang together with the leaders of delegations from ASEAN Countries.
