2023 World Internet Conference: MOI Union Minister Attends WIC in China

Union Minister for Information, U Maung Maung Ohn, attended the opening ceremony of the 2023 World Internet Conference WIC-Wuzhen Summit, held at the Wuzhen Convention Center in China on Wednesday.

Chinese President Xi Jinping addressed the opening via a video message. During the plenary session, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn delivered a speech, emphasizing the need for responsible data usage to prevent data breaches and ensure the systematic flow of cross-border data.

He expressed that the conference could establish the basic foundation and future work plans for building a community with a shared future in cyberspace at a new stage. China initiated the first WIC in 2014, and this year marks its 10th anniversary.

The 2023 WIC Wuzhen Summit, themed "Creating an Inclusive and Resilient Digital World Beneficial to All - Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace," is scheduled to be held from Wednesday to Friday.
