2022 FIFA World Cup Info: SKY NET to air 2022 FIFA World Cup live

Speaking of the global football Industry, the 2022 FIFA World Cup is only weeks away. In Myanmar, the SKY NET TV operator of the Shwe Than Lwin Co., Ltd. has been broadcasting the World Cup matches for consecutive times with exclusive media rights.

The upcoming FIFA World Cup is the 3rd time the SKY NET will broadcast live. A press conference on the live broadcast programme was organized on Saturday at the Shwe Htut Tin Event Park in Yangon. The FIFA World Cup is the most prestigious soccer competition in the world. Played every four years, the 2022 FIFA World Cup will be the 22nd FIFA World Cup. The FIFA World Cup in 2014 hosted by Brazil and in 2018 hosted by Russia were broadcast live by the SKY NET as an exclusive official broadcaster.

General Manager, SKY NET Sport Dept., Phyo Pyae Tun said “The upcoming FIFA World Cup is played at 4:30 PM, 7:30 PM and 10:30 PM Myanmar Standard time. We will broadcast all the 64 matches. We tried hard to get the chance to broadcast the Cup. I am very proud of our SKY NET for being able to broadcast for 3 times now. In the previous cups, the play time was late. The time, matches play time is ok for our Myanmar people. So, this year, we will have more viewers, I’m sure.”

The 2022 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to be held in Qatar from 21 November to 18 December 2022. 32 teams will participate in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, with an increase to 48 teams in the 2026 Cup. A total of 32 teams have qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup - 13 teams from Europe, 6 teams from Asia, 5 from Africa, 4 each from North America and South America. The reigning World Cup champion is France.

Assistant General Manager, SKY NET Sport Dept., Thitsar said “We will air the 2022 FIFA World Cup on the Sky Net Sport HD, Sport 6 and Sport One channels. In addition to the opening and closing ceremonies, we have special programmes which are Dream 32 programme (summarization of the efforts of the teams to reach the World Cup stage), the Secret Superstar programme – for that, we will announce legally “what is Secret Superstar” before the FIFA World Cup and the Analysis Show in which Sport experts experienced in the FIFA World Cup will hold talks live.”

According to the survey, the total number of viewers of the 2018 FIFA World Cup was 3,572 million and this is 51.3% of the world population. The FIFA expected this 2022 World Cup will beat the viewer record of the 2018.
