Around 20,000 people and thousands of caravans have converged on the former Grostenquin air base in Moselle for an annual evangelical gathering overseen by the prefecture.
Authorities began traffic management 36 hours before the event’s official start on Sunday to reduce disruption for residents in five nearby municipalities. Hygiene measures have been reinforced, with 110 toilets installed on site and daily cleaning carried out by teams from the Vie et Lumière association under a signed protocol.
If necessary, a contracted company will intervene to maintain cleanliness throughout the week. The gathering, which runs for seven days, brings together evangelical Christians from the Vie et Lumière mission, including pastors from across the movement, for worship and communal activities under large tents.
