1st day of New Year Festival: Ministry of Construction opens pavilion

Ministry of Construction opened its pavilion on Thursday to celebrate the Myanmar traditional water festival Thingyan. Union Minister U Myo Thant, Deputy Minister and many other officials attended the pavilion opening in Zabuthiri Township.

It was followed by singing and Yein troupe performances. It’s reported that the Ministry of Construction will continue to celebrate this water festival at the pavilion from 9 am to 12 pm and from 3 pm to 6 pm on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th day of the festival. Singing and Yein troupe performances and charity feasts are also included.

Thingyan is the Myanmar’s New Year Festival that usually occurs in middle of April. This year, the Myanmar traditional Thingyan water festival falls from the 13th to the 16th of April.
