The 18th Edition of The India-Nepal Military Training Exercise

The 18th edition of the India-Nepal combined battalion-level military training exercise, ‘SURYA KIRAN’, commenced on Tuesday at Saljhundi, Nepal. The Joint Military Exercise involved Sri Jung Battalion of the Nepali Army and the 11th Gorkha Rifle of the Indian Army.

The primary goals of ‘Suryakiran’ are to enhance regional security, strengthen bilateral ties between India and Nepal. The battalion-level joint military exercise focuses on counterterrorism in difficult geography, establishment of peacekeeping missions as per the UN Charter, and humanitarian aid and relief work in disasters.
