






Myanmar hosted the 18th ASEAN Navy Chief’s Meeting (ANCM) at M Gallery Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw. The opening ceremony took place on 10th October with the attendance of the Council Member and Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General MaungMaung Aye and Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Vice Admiral Htein Win, along with the Navy Chiefs and representatives of Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Viet Nam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.
On behalf of the Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General MaungMaung Aye made an opening speech, saying that Myanmar, being one of the member states of ASEAN, is making collaboration through friendly relations with ASEAN member states and neighbour countries as a whole.
He stressed the need to prioritize non-interference from external factors within ASEAN waters,ensuring peace, stability, security and prosperity. He called for collaborative efforts of all ASEAN Naviesto ensure inter regional maritime security and stability.
This was followed by the greetings extended by the Commander in Chief (Navy) Vice Admiral Htein Win. After the photo session, the commemorative gift was presented to Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air).
