The 17th Floral Fantasia 2024, held to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the National Kandawgyi Garden which is a Landmark of Myanmar in Pyin Oo Lwin District, Mandalay Region, was officially opened on December 14, 2024.
The event has been attracting both local and international visitors, who are enjoying the peaceful and beautiful surroundings of the garden. The festival continues to see large crowds and is expanded further week open to the public until January 19, 2025.Pyin Oo Lwin is known as one of Myanmar's prominent tourist destinations, offering a cool and refreshing climate, lush green landscapes, local food, and vibrant flowers.
It is also famous for its cherry blossoms, which bloom only once a year during the winter season. Cherry blossoms typically begin blooming in December and January each year, with flowers remaining on the trees until February or March.
This year, it has been observed that the cherry blossoms in Pyin Oo Lwin city have bloomed later than usual. During the festival period this year, the National Kandawgyi Garden and other areas in Pyin Oo Lwin have been bustling with visitors, both domestic and international, coming to relax and enjoy the serene atmosphere, as well as those visiting famous spots in the city to admire the blossoms.
The area is especially lively with an increased number of visitors during this time.The event features eight different zones showcasing seasonal flowers, local flowers, and different flower species from both inside and outside Myanmar. In addition to the flower displays, the festival also includes entertainment programs, a market, local food stalls, and other activities.
Visitors from various regions and countries have been flocking to the National Kandawgyi Garden to enjoy the festival and its attractions, contributing to the lively atmosphere.
