16th Mahamingalar Ceremony: Union Ministers poured water to Maha Bodhi tree

The 16th Mahamingalar ceremony of water pouring to the Bodhi tree at the Uppadasanti Pagoda on the Buddha Day which falls on the full moon day of Kasone month was held at the Bodhi tree at the precinct of the pagoda in the evening on Wednesday.

The ceremony was attended by the Union Ministers and wives, Union Auditor General, Chairman of Union Civil Service Board and wife, Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar, Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission, Chairman of Myanmar National Human Rights Commission and wife, Deputy Ministers, members of Nay Pyi Taw Council, departmental heads and officials.

First, the Union Ministers and wives together with the attendees took the positions to pour the Maha Bodhi tree and the master of ceremony respectfully recited Mahabodhi Rukkha Sinjanapuja Gatha. Then, the Union Ministers and wives together with the attendees poured the water to the Maha Bodhi tree, sprinkled with the scented water and paid respect to the Maha Bodhi tree by cycling it in clockwise direction.
