16th AMRI and its related Meetings: MoI Union Minister attends the meetings in Danang, Viet Nam

The 16th ASEAN Ministers’ Responsible for Information (16th AMRI)and its related Meetings kicked off at the Furama Resort Danang, Viet Nam on 22nd September and Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn attended the meeting.

Before the meeting, Minister of Information and Communications of Vietnam Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung hosted greeting breakfast to Information Ministers ASEAN countries, representatives of ASEAN+3, representatives of observer countryTimor-Leste, Deputy Secretary General of ASEAN and Information high ranking officials at the gallery hall of Furama Resort. It was followed by opening ceremony at the Danang Ballroom of Furama Resort and the event was opened with ASEAN song.

At the ceremony, Vietnamese Minister of Information and Communications Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung gave an opening remark and General Secretary of Da Nang City Party Committee extended greetings. After that, the commemorative photos were taken.

After opening ceremony, it was followed by the 16th AMRI and the alternate chair of the meeting, Vietnamese Minister Mr.Nguyen Manh Hung gave an opening remark. The ceremony was attended by Information Minister of ASEAN Countries and representatives of Observer Country Timor-Leste. And then, the theme of the 16th AMRI, “Media: From Information to Knowledge for a Resilient and Responsive ASEAN” was introduced.

In regard with the theme, ASEAN Information Ministers and officials of ASEAN Secretariat discussed their insights. Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn discussed pragamatic of Myanmar and efforts for media development. After opening ceremony, attendees observed the booths displayed at the hotel.
