15th plenary meeting: 15th plenary meeting of SSMNC commenced

The first day session of 15th plenary meeting of the Eighth 47-member State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee commenced in Vijayamangala Dhamma Thabin Hall at KabarAye Hill in Yangon on Monday.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary Sayadaw of the State Sangha Mahanayaka Committee presiding Sayadaw of Thanlyin Min Kyaung Pahtamapyan SarthintaikSarthintaik Dr. Bhaddanta Candima Bhivamsa , the Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin, Director General of  the Department of Religious Affairs, the officials from the International Theravada Buddhist Missionary Universityand other concerned officials.

The meeting was presided over by the Secretary Sayadaw of the State Sangha Mahanayaka Committee presiding Sayadaw of Thanlyin Min Kyaung Pahtamapyan Sarthintaik Dr. Bhaddanta Candima Bhivamsa and the joint-secretary SSMNYKC Baddanta Candavamsalankarabhivamsa carried out as the master of ceremony.

After announcing the opening of the meeting, the Secretary Sayadaw of the State Sangha Mahanayaka Committee delivered the Saraniya Ovadakatha. Next, the Union Minister U Tin Oo Lwin supplicated religious affairs.

Then, the relevant State Sangha Mahanayaka Committee member Sayadaws clarified the summery reports of the duties carried out during the sixth duty assigned period of second group of eight Sangha Mahanayaka Committee.

After discussing and making decision on the Vinicchaya affairs by the member Sayadaws of the State Sangha Mahanayaka Committee, the meeting was adjourned at 9:45 AM.The meeting was resumed at 1 PM and the member Sayadaws of the State Sangha Mahanayaka Committee discussed and made decision on the Vinicchaya affairs and religious affairs, the meeting was adjourned in the afternoon.

 The morning meal was offered by Daw  Pyone Wai Thi dedicating to the parents U Maung Maung and Daw Khin Khin Gyi and the day meal was offered by the Dhamma friends led by the Senior General Than Shwe (Retired) and wife Daw Kyaing Kyaing.
