13th ASEAN Education Ministers Meeting: Myanmar delegation attends the meeting in Thailand

On 24th August, Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe who are in Thailand to attend 13th ASEAN Education Ministers Meeting visited Khao Phnom Rung Historical Park in Buriram together with the Education Ministers and representatives from ASEAN member countries.

The delegation also attended the honorary dinner hosted by Thai Minister of Education at Prasat Meaung Tam Historical Park. On 25th August, the 13th ASEAN Education Ministers Meeting was inaugurated with the opening speeches of Burriam Province Governor and Thai Minister for Education.

Next, the reports of 18th ASEAN Senior Officials’ Meeting and 19th ASEAN Senior Officials’s Meeting were presented by Vietnamese and Thai representatives respectively.

Then, the discussions were made under the theme “Transforming Education in the Digital Era” and the Union Minister Dr. Nyunt Pe outlined the ability of Digital technology in shaping the future of education and career development opportunities.

He added that digital transformation in education system requires to create a learning environment which can effectively adapt the modern digital technologies and its innovations.

He also stressed the capacity enhancement of the faculty members in digital transformation. The meeting adopted the joint agreement on “Transforming Education in the Digital Era”. The 14th ASEAN Education Ministers Meeting will be hosted by Singapore in 2026.
