12th Anniversary of Prison Dept.: SAC member MOHA Union Minister graced celebration

Member of State Administration Council Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae graced the 12th year Anniversary of Prison Department held at Office No (49) in Nay Pyi Taw at 10:30 Am on 26th February.

In his opening speech, the SAC member Union minister for Home Affairs said that the prison department appears to be implementing four objectives of the department such as To ensure safe custody, To make correctional moral and morality, To equip inmates with vocational skill and knowledge for production and To perform community services for the benefit of the public and Eight Duties of Prisons Department including Security, Discipline, Promotion of inmates’ living standard, Health Care, Correction of Moral and Morality, Teaching of vocational education and literature, Performing Works of Production and Performing community services for the interest of people. For the personnel, it’s needed to carry out for the improvement of discipline, serving responsibilities dutifully, capacity enhancement and welfare. It’s required to implement the two national objectives, two political objectives, five point-roadmap and 9 objectives by taking as principle and to serve the assigned duties and to treat the prisoners in line with the motto of “Kind but Firm”.

Next, the Video clip on 12th Anniversary of Prison Department under the Ministry of Home Affairs was screened. Then, the wives and family members of 9 police officers from Loikaw prison who were awarded Ye Bala medals were handed certificate of honor, medal and cash of honor and the basic foodstuff and cash assistance for the personnel were provided.

Then, the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Chief of Myanmar Police Force Lt-Gen Ni Lin Aung, Deputy Minister Ma-J Gen. Toe Yi, permanent secretary U Khaing Tun Oo and Director General of Prison Department U Myo Swe awarded the prizes to the winners in Traditional Fine Arts Competition, capacity enhancement training, parade outstanding award winner, three representatives from three Regions and States which awarded best administrative ability.

After that, the SAC member Union Minister for Home Affairs, Deputy Ministers, permanent secretary and Director General posed for the documentary photo together with the prized awarded personnel and wives of personnel.
