11th International Conference: 11th Int’l Conference on Science and Engineering Research

As the leading institution in engineering education in Myanmar, Yangon Technological University is striving to transform into an internationally recognized research-based technological university.

In commemoration of the centennial of the engineering education in Myanmar, the 11th International Conference on Science and Engineering Research (2024) was inaugurated on 16th December with the attendance of the Union Minister for Science and Technology, Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw.The Union Minister Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw delivered the opening speech, followed by keynote addresses from Patrons of Myanmar Engineering Council, Professor Dr. Nyi Hla Nge and U Aye Myint.

Keynote presentations were also delivered by professors from Acharya Institute of Technology (India), Chiba University (Japan), and Chulalongkorn University (Thailand).During the conference, a total of 100 research papers were presented across various engineering disciplines: 22 papers on urban engineering, 41 on electronic engineering, 9 on industrial engineering, 14 on electrical power engineering, 12 on computer engineering and information technology, and 2 on mechatronics engineering.

Following the presentations, the Union Minister and distinguished guests toured the project exhibitions displayed by the respective engineering departments.The Ministry of Science and Technology remains committed to fostering high-quality, ethical engineers and architects who can contribute to the national interest and development of the country.

This is achieved by emphasizing applied research and practical solutions. Since 2009, the Ministry has been organizing international conferences on science and engineering research, hosted annually by Yangon Technological University (Lower Myanmar) and Mandalay Technological University (Upper Myanmar).
