The secretary of tourism, Josefina Rodriguez, reported that 100,000 people gathered at the football festival in Mexico City’s Zócalo. Meanwhile, an additional 200,000 people attended other world cup events held across various boroughs of the nation’s capital.
The official added that fan zones in Nuevo León reached a turnout of 50,000 fans, while those in Jalisco recorded 38,000.
