





The Seoul Central District Court held a sentencing hearing Friday morning on former president Yoon Suk Yeol for obstructing the execution of an arrest warrant issued by the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials.
The special counsel team on the insurrection case requested a combined imprisonment of ten years for Yoon. The team asked five years in prison for the charge of obstructing an arrest, three years for infringing on Cabinet members’ right to deliberation and decision-making in connection with an emergency martial law Cabinet meeting, and two years for allegedly writing a fake declaration of martial law.
The sentencing for Yoon’s first trial is to take place on January 16th.
