The “Mount Qomolangma Friendship 2024”, a ten-day joint military drill between China and Nepal focused on counter-terrorism operations, kicked off on Sunday in China’s Chongqing Municipality.

More than 120 representatives from both sides attended the opening ceremony at a military base in Chongqing. The joint training, the fourth edition since 2019, aims to improve the collaboration capabilities of the two sides in joint operations.

The first stage includes counter-terrorism team tactics, drone operations, disaster relief and rescue and other trainings on hybrid squads formed by Chinese and Nepali participants, while the second stage will be a comprehensive counter-terrorism drill.
