Meke Crater Lake in Konya’s Karapinar district has transformed into a winter wonderland following heavy snowfall, offering a “visual feast” for nature enthusiasts and photographers. The volcanic lake, known as the “Evil Eye Amulet of the World,” features a central cone formed by a second eruption, now draped in snow.

Visitors have been flocking to the site, especially during sunset, when orange and purple hues reflect against the snow-covered landscape. Declared a first-grade natural protected area and a Ramsar site, Meke Crater Lake remains a geological and ecological marvel. Recent snowfall has enhanced its scenic beauty, despite ongoing challenges with water levels caused by climate change and drought.
