SHWEI HTA MIN (GOLDEN RICE CAKE)

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 cups sticky rice
  • 1 coconut
  • ½ tablespoon salt
  • A little peanut oil
  • 30 ticals of jaggery

PREPARATION

Soak sticky river over night, rinse and steam it for about 30 minutes. Boil jaggery till it gets thick and syrupy. Transfer the steamed sticky rice into the bowl, pour the jaggery syrup over it and stir in a teaspoon of salt thoroughly to mix well. Apply peanut oil to the tray and put the sticky rice mixture into it. Level the surface with the back of a spoon. Grate the coconut with a grater. Cut the snack with a sharp knife into the desired shapes for serving with grated coconut.
