World carbon emissions are set to reach a record high this year, according to Global Carbon Project. Between 2014-2016 carbon emissions remained roughly stable but new data shows an unexpected 2 per cent rise. It's a big setback for The Paris Agreement which set out global goals for curbing emissions. China is the biggest greenhouse gas emitter accounting for 30 percent of world emissions. U.S emissions did fall by 0.4%. But that was less than expected.
