Tourism Conference: Myanmar Tourism Conference 2018 Held In Nay Pyi Taw

The opening ceremony of Myanmar Tourism Conference 2018 was held at Myanmar International Convention Center-2, Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday.

A the opening ceremony, vice president U Henry VanThio in his capacity as chairman of central committee for the development of national tourism industry said that the first Myanmar Tourism Conference  is organized with the aims at the tourism industry to be included in the priorities of economic policy of the state, the importance of tourism sector to be highlighted, the image of the country to be raised and sustained, the traditional cultures and natural environments to be preserved and the opportunities outcome from the tourism industry to be shared among the national brethren. 

During the conference, the respective speakers clarified the topics of management of destinations and development of tourism packages, market strategies for tourism industry and taxations, investment opportunities in giving training for the improvement of tourism industrial technologies and the development of vocational skills.

The conference is the outcome of the collective efforts of all stakeholders to develop the tourism industry and raise the image of the country among the international community.

Director-General, Directorate of Hotels and Tourism, Tint Thwin said “This conference is the final stage of the steps that we took together with the departmental officials, private business entrepreneurs, stakeholders of tourism industry and the public through the discussions and talks to develop the tourism industry, solve the problems that we face, policy matters, restore the reputation of the country, respond the misunderstanding of international community based on the wrong information of our country.”

The former president U Htin Kyaw and wife Daw Su Su Lwin, union ministers, chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council and wife, ministers from regions and states, senior officials of the departments, diplomats, organizations of the tourism industry and responsible officials attended the opening ceremony.
