Singing protesters interrupt U.S. pro-coal event at U.N. climate talks

14 November 2017

At 200-nation climate talks, singing protesters interrupted a U.S. event to promote fossil fuels and nuclear power. They said the world should instead shift to renewable energies under the 2015 Paris climate agreement. Dozens of protesters chanted for several minutes in a meeting room.

They urged the United States to leave coal in the ground. Washington Governor Jay Inslee said it did not matter how much U.S. President Donald Trump tweeted, he would not stop the movement.
